Young graduates are recruited as Assistants (clerical cadre). The Banks offer fast track growth opportunities as the Assistants are eligible for promotion on completion of 3 years’ service. This exam conducted once in a year, Usually in the month of October or November.

Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. Those who are in the Final year of their Graduation/Semester may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for LPT(language Proficiency Test), they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination.
Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows:

Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks. The Objective Test will be conducted online. This test would be of 2 hours 15 minutes duration consisting of 5 Sections with 40 marks each (Total 200 marks) as follows:

The detailed RBI Assistant syllabus of each section can be checked from below. The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
The candidates provisionally selected from the main on-line examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned (Annex-IV). Candidate not proficient in the Official/Local Language would be disqualified.
The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for the selection and only the marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II) of the candidates who qualify the LPT will be considered for preparation of the final merit list. The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.
